Family members of Jyotidrabhai said, “Our elderly was the very caring soul and used to help others who were really needy people. We had also seen news of Organ Donation in News bulletins. Our family doctor Dr Girishbhai Naik also supported us when he was noticed about this situation. He added that organ donation is a good deed. Today when our elder has got brain dead and is going to die soon, it is better to donate their precious organs and save the lives of needy people rather than burning their organ to ashes.”

On getting the consent of Jyotindrabhai’s family members, Donate Life Founder President Nilesh Mandlewala contacted Dr Pranjal Modi at Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre (IKDRC) and informed him to accept the donation of kidney and liver. The donation of kidney and liver were accepted by Dr Suresh Kumar and his team from Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre (IKDRC), Ahmedabad, whereas donation of eyes was accepted by Lokdrashti Chakshu Bank by Dr Praful Shiroya.
