DONATE LIFE PRESIDENT SHRI NILESH MANDLEWALA WAS HONOURED WITH “FEELINGS PRIDE OF GUJARAT” AWARD AT AHMEDABAD
On Saturday, 7th January, 2017, the Founder & President of Donate Life Shri Nilesh Mandlewala was honoured with ‘Pride of Gujarat’ award by the Chief Editor of Navgujarat Samay Shri Ajay Umat at a program organized by Feelings magazine, for his invaluable contribution to society in the field of cadaver organ donation.
Dr Nirmala Sunil Wadhwani, Minister of State for Women & Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat, Yuva Vaishnav Aacharya Param Pujya Shri Vrajkumarji, Gujarat High Court Justice Hon’ble Shri Pradeep P. Bhatt, Publisher & Editor of Gujarat Samachar & Asian Voice, London Shri C. B. Patel, CMD & Editor of Feelings Shri Atul Shah remained present at this occasion.
In response to this honour, Shri Nileshbhai said that this is not my honour, it’s a tribute to the family members of organ donors, it’s recognition to my doctor friends from Surat, Hospitals, Police Department, Airport Authority, Forensic Department, Surat Municipal Corporation and Representatives of Press – Media from Surat City & State.
Adding to that, he said that every year five lakh people die in our country due to non-availability of organs. So, let us take an oath to join hands for the noble cause of regenerating life of organ failure patients, whenever we get any information of any braindead person.
Here it is notable that by counseling & developing cordial understanding with the family members of brain dead persons, Shri Nilesh Mandlewala and Donate Life Team has successfully enlightened the life of 417 people by donating them 182 Kidneys, 67 Livers, 4 Pancreas, 7 Hearts and 158 Eyes.
